The more stringent demands for bark-free sawmill chips and the sawmills’ requirements for increased capacity led Söderhamn's to develop a new type of rotor in 1993, the Air-Ten. All Cambio Debarkers are supplied with the new Air-Ten rotor design.
In the Air-Ten system the pressure of the debarking tool against the log is achieved by air bags. This system gives several advantages compared with older systems, such as:
- better debarking thanks to quicker reaction of the tools
- more gentle treatment of all dimensions
- reduced maintenance
- reduced wear through low number of moving parts
- quick and simple change of tool pressure
- allows higher feed rates

| The new Air-Ten rotors can be retro-fitted into existing Cambio Debarkers. This can be done easily over a weekend. Example shown is for a Cambio 45 Debarker. |
